Clearview price per metre costs

Typically, premium Clearview fencing ranges from R180 to R1800 per meter. This is just for the fencing on its own and not including installation costs.

The price may vary depending on factors such as:

  • The level of security required
  • The height and length of the fencing
  • The coating you want — whether Powdercoated or PVC coated in a particular colour
  • Any additional security features that you may require
  • The difficulty level of your fencing at your location

Here are some approximations of the average clearview fencing prices per meter across the industry:

Lower-end security 75mm – 50mm apertures From R200 per metre
Medium security 75mm – 25mm apertures From R420 per metre
Maximum security 75mm – 12.7mm apertures From R550 per metre

What are the clearview fence price ranges if I want additional coating?

We use mild steel for all your security gates. However, you can request a range of different coatings and finishes available. The finish will determine the final price.

ZincAlume (Galvanised) This is a specialist coating and the least expensive option. It offers a superior corrosion-resistant metallic coating and is made for long-term durability in harsh environments. This coating consists of 92% Zinc and 8% aluminium, and provides a very high level of rust protection. Making it well suited for harsh environments.
Powder coating You can expect an approximate 15-20% increase in the cost (Depending on the colour) with a powder coating on top of the industry standard galvanised steel base. This is due to factors such as surface preparation — cleaning, degreasing and pre-treatment of the fence materials before the coating. Note that standard colours tend to be lower in cost than more premium colours. Offers a durable, aesthetically pleasing finish. It also adds a layer of protection against the elements, and you can choose from various fence colours.
PVC coating or Plascoat (anti-corrosion) finishes You can expect a 20-30% increase in the cost (Depending on the colour) with a PVC coating on top of the industry standard galvanised steel base. This is due to the additional materials, labour and energy. PVC provides a robust, weather-resistant layer, extending the fence’s lifespan. It is resistant to chemicals, graffiti, impact and UV damage. It offers exceptional resistance to areas of high humidity, such as coastal areas.

What are other factors that determine the price of clearview fences?

Common factors that we haven’t yet covered include:
  • Height and length — The higher and longer the gate, the greater the cost. We offer perimeter fencing from 1200mm to 3000mm (3 metres) in height. The length is completely bespoke to your circumstances.
  • Additional security — there are lots of features that you can use to enhance your clearview fences. Find them in our additional security section here. These include:
Electric fencing An electric fence can be added onto the clearview fence and may cost around 30% or more over the typical baseline cost. This could be 6 or 8 lines along the top of the fence.    A more sophisticated system with multiple wires called a “Full height electric fence” that runs from the bottom to the top of your Clearview fence, may cost significantly more.    Bear in mind the cost will be higher if your clearview fence already has an additional coating, such as those described above.    It’s best to contact us if you’re having questions about a large, sophisticated, electrical clearview fence.
Security spikes There are two types of security spikes used on clearview fences:
  • Shark tooth spikes (shark-teeth spikes top)
  • Anti-climb spikes
Both are relatively straightforward to install and may increase the cost of your clearview fence project by around 10%
Razor coil There are two types of razor coil used on clearview fences:
  • Flat wrap razor coil
  • Concertina razor coil
Concertina razor coil is more expensive but also adds a higher level of security.    Expect them to add approximately 10% on the top of a baseline clearview fence.
Electric gates (for vehicles or pedestrians) Automatic vehicle gates are a significant investment, especially when it comes to safety. Access control on pedestrian gates could impact the price- it could be a very effective solution to control access or for security reasons restrict access.    We can also add automation like gate motors or access control with biometric fingerprint readers on both Clearview Sliding gates or Clearview Swing gates.. The level of automation and access control you want will also influence the price.
Sliding or Swing gates You can also choose sliding or Swing gates for various applications. Our custom ClearView gates for vehicles and pedestrians, can be built according to your specifications. Should you not have architectural drawings, we could draft them for you at an additional cost.
CCTV cameras  A basic CCTV system with a few cameras can be relatively affordable.    But an advanced system with multiple 4K cameras, night vision capabilities, motion and facial recognition, weather resistance and so on will cost more.
Like with everything we’ve discussed so far, it’s best to contact us today for more information about your individual requirements.

Are there other fees I need to think about for a clearview fence price?

You will need to think carefully about:
  • Labour charges — the prices quoted above are for the parts themselves. It will cost more to have our professional teams do the foundation work and fence installation.
  • The complexity of the job — uneven terrain will require levelling and ground preparation. Installations with corners and curves will take longer to complete than straight runs. And if there are lots of additional security features added, it will require more labour time. Rocky ground or soil

How much would you recommend I spend on my clearview fence?

This all depends on when and where your clearview fence will be installed.

    • Commercial businesses in high-crime areas — if you’re in a high-crime area, we would always suggest prioritising maximum security with spikes, razor coil, warts and all.

    • Industrial businesses in high-crime areas — we’d recommend everything a commercial business should have, but with more robust CCTV, biometrics and access control.

    • Coastal areas — we’d recommend you invest in our corrosion-resistant coating such as ThermoPlus to protect your fence against the wind and salt air.
  • Residential properties — balance your security concerns with aesthetics. For basic security, a standard ZincAlume Clearview fence with medium-sized apertures is a good starting point and at this size the wire mesh won’t be obvious. So residential clear view fence prices are generally considerably more affordable than some of the more commercial and industrial examples here.
